[Bucky mumbles with a smile. The spark in the pit of his stomach hasn't subsided, and even though he thinks he could wring out Lupin anytime, his bones and muscles tell a different story. He wishes Lupin had more hair to twine in his fingers but for now he settles for a hand on his cheek. His gaze darkens, but only a little -- just like the feeling from before. Half a second long, but enough to be noticeable.
For all the thieving, he knows he can trust Lupin. He's proven that in more ways than one. But the lump that forms in Bucky's throat when he begins to speak makes it hard. There's something around his heart, and if Lupin can just find the crack that will shatter that wall...
Bucky's terrified of it, to be perfectly honest. How much will he still have him when he finds out the things he's done? Bucky wants to laugh when he remembers going to mass as a kid, going to confessional, things that no longer felt even relevant to his life. No god would have mercy on him, and even the devil would turn him away.
He decides he'll give his spouse a chance while he's fucked out of his mind sleepy and his filter isn't as strong.]
